The Best British Player I've EVER laid My Eyes On

Yes I said it, THE BEST BRITISH player I've seen by a mile, I may not have lived for the Bobby Moore, Bobby Charlton, Gazza and George Best era, But I've followed Rooney since he burst on the scene at Everton and scored that memorable against Arsenal where he destroyed Viera and and Campbell. And since then I've potential talent come and go but Rooney has been a great performer on the highest stage for the last 12 years now, I was so happy for him to be crowned England's all time top goal scorer against Switzerland on Tuesday where he broke Charlton's record.

The debate on whether he's a great player will still go on, as he's never really hit the heights in a tournament since Euro 2004 and in  the big games. But bar that Rooney is a legend we cannot deny his talent, people can say what they like but Rooney has been a great advert for the English game. (And that's coming from an Arsenal fan lol.)

Rooney on his day is up there with the best, his aggression, skill and technique is all the ingredients you need of a great player, he hasn't had the best seasons with United, and whether he can lead the line for the Red Devils this season is another question on most lips. But we can't take away the great career and impressive CV the Liverpool born player has. Congrats on breaking the record Wazza.
