Honour The Dead And Bring Back Silverware

Normally my blogs are football based whether I'm writing about a certain team, player, manager or a certain story that happened during the week. But this week I want to do something different and write a pledge to both Arsenal and Liverpool to win the respective League and FA Cup that they are chasing. For the loyal fans who have passed away during the years.
I would also dedicate this blog to my former youth leader Joseph Massally who did many great works in my church will be surely missed. He was a very loyal Gooner who took his Arsenal jersey to his grave. At first I though it was a bit much then I thought what a fan, surely everyone connected to Arsenal should see what a great gesture the late Joseph gave. I believe not only should red half of North London end their 9 years of no silverware but to honor Joseph's death and many loyal Gooners who have left their families and passed away.

Liverpool do not need much motivation towards their title pursuit all they have to think about is Hillsbourgh and they will be stirred up like soldiers going into battle. No one is more fired up then thier catalyst captain marvel Steven Gerrad who lost his 10 year old cousin on that fatal day with 95 other people dying. Just as Arsenal have gone through 9 painful seasons with out a trophy Liverpool havegone through 24 even more painful years of not winning the league, yes during the years they've won cups and the Champions League but any supporter in football and even the Kop fans will tell you that the league is the bread and butter of every season.

So much is at stake for both of the English giants but one moment lets forget about what's at stake for both clubs, the lack of trophies and the pride of the players and let's remember the loyal supporters who have died during the years of these hard and testing times of both clubs. Sometimes or even most of the time in football we forget the fans is what makes the beautiful game what it is today. We forget the time, passion and money they put into their clubs. Come May I want to see Liverpool winning the Premier League and Gerrad honoring his late cousin and those that died in Hillsbourgh those 24 year ago and on May 19 I want to see Arsenal honoring the memory of a great colleague of mine who inspired me to always be great in my Christian walk of faith. You loyal football fans will never be forgotten but will be missed R.I.P (P.S if your souls are watching over I'll know you'll be rejoicing when both teams win the league and the cup, and to the players of Arsenal and Liverpool you know what you need to do!)

Tears Of Joy

Yesterday Liverpool took another step closer to clinching their first ever Premiership title and league title in 24 years as they emphatically beat rival Man City at the Kop yesterday. The reds have been in fine form since beating Arsenal 5-1 a few months ago and genuine belief has sunk into the players, Liverpool staff and football neutrals alike that they can clinch the title this year since they beat Tottenham 5-0 and have topped the table. If the Anfield faithful win their next 3 games then Gerrard and co will be crowned the champions of England.

As we saw a teary eyed Gerrard at the end of yesterday's encounter with City. I believe that this is his time and his moment to rally his troops and squad to win their first ever Premier League title. He's been there before in 2005 where he guided them to the Champions League and with his experience of winning trophies. Now is the time where his vast experience is needed. As I wrote on my Facebook status yesterday Gerrard deserves the trophy more than any other player in the league, that has eluded him his whole career that has seen him as one of the best central midfielders in world football. And as he enters the latter stages of his career it would be a great send off to win the Premier League if he is looking to retire anytime soon. Gerrard is Liverpool born and bread and has given nothing but a 100% commitment, passion and worn his heart on his sleeve since making his debut for the club. The whole of UK is rooting for him to win this and I hope he does because he's been a great servant to English football even more reason why he deserves England's most prestigious trophy.

If Gerrard has been captain marvel what more praise does Brendan Rogers deserve? A shoe in for manager of the year alongside the likes of  Tony Pulis who has changed Palace's fortune from relegation favourites and Roberto Martinez whose turned Everton into Champions League contenders. The Scotsmen who has changed the Liverpool outfit from a team who are expected to underachieve season after season to a team that's challenging for the title, he's brought in good signings in Coutinho and Sturridge who have brought a new dimention to the team with speed and flair, turned average players like Henderson and Sterling who are now in contention to play for England in this years World cup. He's changed the fortune around and is bringing back the good old times back to the Kop. No disrespect to Martinez and Pulis but Rogers should win manager of the year as he's done what no manager has done at Liverpool, since the Paisley and Fagan days where Liverpool won trophies for fun by making Liverpool the best team in the county this season. That in my own right deserves accolades.
