Magnificent Bale

What a season it's been for the Welsh wizard no one would have though it would turn out like this. If you said last year May Bale would be the highest transfer in football history and will win the European cup in his first season we all would've laughed. But what a transition he's made I for one said two years ago that Bale has the talent to be up there with the best of the best with the likes of Ronaldo, Messi and Iniesta. And as he was one of Madrid's main performers in the final last Saturday, let's not forget that amazing run to his goal that won the Galatico's the Spanish cup, that left us on the edges of our seats. In my 12 years of watching football I have never seen a run like that in my life. With moments and matches like this we all know and the world around know's what a talent Bale is.

Not since the Rooney days have we seen a top British players for years I have said Wayne Rooney is by far the best British player in world football. No offence to players like Terry, Cole, Hart, Lamaprd and Gerrard but Rooney on his days he's one of the best strikers in the world the British isles haven't had a talent like his since Paul Gasgoine was playing. But now I think it's safe to say that Bale is the best British player by a mile  with 21 goals, 16 assists and a Champions League medal to savour in his debut season. Bale is only in peaks of his career and he will only get better.

With all his ability and talent it's such a shame that we'll probably never see the worlds most expensive player in a World Cup or a European Championship. Wales are not exactly a great team and their qualifying record doesn't help them either. Gareth Bale alone cannot take them to a summer tournament he needs good players around him for that. But then again the most decorated player in British football (Ryan Giggs) hasn't played in an international tournament. But has a great career to make up for it, I'm sure in years to come we'll see Bale making the same history and being as decorated as his fellow country man was.

One Trophy Is Not Enough

Saturday May 18th was the day Arsenal broke their 9 year wait of a trophy by winning this season's FA Cup. After coming from a 2-0 down defect from Hull City. This will go down as one of the best and most grueling moment of me supporting the North London club. Things started looking nervy when Hull took the lead and if things had stayed this way, we would have lost the cup and been speculating when Arsenal would next win a trophy. But as happy as I am and as many Gooners will tell you that the F.A Cup is not enough if we want to win many trophies in coming seasons.

If Arsene sticks with Giroud as the main striker again next season then there's no hope. He may have had a good start last season, but as the season wore in there was many questions around the Frenchmen. His lack of pace where through balls came to him destroyed many attacks, his touch at times disrupted the flow of Arsenal's play which was evident to see on Saturday's encounter and his lack of killer instinct and confidence in front of goal in crucial moments cost us goals and a lot of points. Arsenal need to bring in a goal scorer with a ruthless streak we've missed a striker like the Adebayor's, RVP'S and Henry's of this world. I do hope we can get Remy who plays like Henry and would be a cheap acquisition. He can play of the last defender and with great players like Crazola, Walcott and Ozil around him linking up the play wont be a problem for the QPR man.

Another problem that Arsenal have which is blatant to see in these last 9 years is that, Arsenal lack leaders players that will rally the other players when loosing and that will take game by the scruff of the neck. They lack passion of past players such as Adam, Viera, Henry, Dixon and Keown. The only player that I see that has this is bread and born Gooner Jack Wilshire and Flamini but what good is thier passion when their injured or suspended every other game? For Arsenal to win bigger trophies and carry on winning silverware Arsene Wenger needs to invest in leaders, he needs to put more depth in the squad. Bringing in a 30 plus year old who used to play for Sweden is not good enough. This is going to be the season where most of the big boys in Europe will be spending the cash to enhance they win silverware and if Wenger goes another summer where he brings in one or two freebies and spends little then I don't see Arsenal being the team  that they were in the last decade or winning any more trophies.
