Same Old England

Against the Azerbaijan's and Estonia's of this world England look like world beaters, against better quality position England show the team that they are really are, good against the minnows, play like minnows against the best teams on the international scene, as they were outplayed by a strong Spain team who have riches and depth of talent 3 days ago, optimism after a great qualifying campaign and a 17 month unbeaten record has been busted as we all have to smell the coffee and realize this nation is far behind the Spain's, Germany's and Brazil's of this world. England need to go back to the drawing board and work on a new mentality & confidence on beating the giants of international football.

I've always said that this is one of the best England teams, I've seen in the last years, okay there was the golden generation of Beckham, Owen, both Coles, Lampard, Gerard and Ferdinand but they never really hit the heights. But this team is young, pacey and very lethal going forward, with so much good talent coming through these days Hodgson has a big headache all over the pitch, it still makes me wonder why England are falling on their heads against the big teams? Hodgson needs to change his tactics and motivate his players that they can beat the power houses of international football.

For England to be a world force in football that they can and should be, Hodgson needs to put out teams that need to go for a win, Friday night was like the team were holding for a draw, and not trying to take the game by the bull of the horns, he still doesn't know his best 11 and has never had a constant centre back pairing, Cahill and Stones/Jagielka will great in that fold. England are the sleeping giants of international football if there are to win Euro 2016 Hodgson needs to go for wins, and know his best 11 and stop experimenting in every game.

Coq And Santi Won't Win Us The League

You saw yesterday, how the young and inexperienced midfield duo of Alli and Dier ripped Coq and Carzola to shreds last night. So imagine playing against dangerous number 10's like James Rodriguez or dangerous midfielders like Pogba will be like. Arsene Wenger as stubborn as he is, still hasn't sorted out his problem since he sold Alex Song to Barca nearly 3 years ago. Another case of Ignorance from the French manager who took 11 years to sort out the goal keeping crisis when he brought Cech in the summer.

To win the league you need a strong spine, especially a midfield pairing who will take the game by the scruff of the neck and dominate. Like I said, Gary Neville has said the partnership of Coqulein and Carzola will not win us league, Carzola is an attacking player, even though he has the vision to be a deep lying midfielder, he doesn't posses commitment or discipline and stop attacks. Coquelin may have had a great second half the season last season and cemented his place in midfield, lacks discipline and still needs to develop. Arsenal need someone who is experienced, knows how to dominate midfield and snuff out attacks from the opposition. This is why Bayern battered the Gunners last Tuesday, that's why we was dominated like school boys yesterday. This is an issue Wenger has failed to sort out since he sold Flamini (When he was a formidable force in 2008.) And sold Viera in 2005. If we as Arsenal football club want to move forward we need a quality centre mid who knows what he is doing. But will Wenger step up and pay the big bucks? No!

Okay against the small team Coq and Carzola look like the dream team pairing, but against better opposition and quality attacking number 10's, they'll look like Sunday League rejects, you already saw that Wenger had to take off Carzola yesterday, meaning the Spaniard is feeling the strain of playing in that position. I like Coquelin he's really matured and developed but tackling and discipline is poor which always get's him in the refs notebooks, I've always said he's great cover but will he work on his tackling? I don't know. If Wenger doesn't address situation we will always be doomed.

"Now or Never" For Joel Campbell

Before the Swansea game where he was undoubtedly the man of the match, Arsene Wenger said it's now or never for Joel Campbell, in retrospective he was right, Campbell has played all over the continent from Greece to France and Spain and it's now time to stake a place in the team and stop going on loan. It's now time for the Costa Rican to seize his chance and salvage his Arsenal Career. But when he's 4th choice striker is it time to leave in January or bide his time on the Arsenal bench with form boys Giroud and Walcott, an a injured Welbeck in front of him?

Joel Campbell flourished on Saturday, and should be given a run in the team, he offers another dimension to the attack with his quickness and shoot on sight policy, Campbell if given the nod can be a handful to Premier League defences. He had a great World Cup and a fantastic season at Olympiakos two season ago I was annoyed for him, that Wenger didn't give him a chance last season, where none of strikers proved themselves in most parts of the season. Wenger did say he has a future at the club and rates him highly, but didn't he say the same about Podolski, who on his day is a great finisher and then got rid of him? Campbell is only in the team due to our lack of strikers at the moment I won't be surprised if he's gone in the summer or even January, another talented striker Wenger has lost grip off in his management.
